ZLOG EXCLUSIVE LOOK: Formula Centerlock hubs
Everyone has owned a Formula hub at some point. They are cheap and fairly durable and are most peoples first track hub. I got some spy photos of Formula’s new approach to the fixed gear hub, which they call the Centerlock hub. It uses a 48 spline system not unlike some fixed freestyle splined sprockets. This is pretty neat. I hope they keep the price low and make a range of cog sizes.

this look sick. no more slipping cogs. cant wait to get my hands on one some day! any information on the axel?
It would be cool if they make hubs for 11t cogs or less
just put some 14mm axels on here and shit will pop off.
Pretty and to the point. This is the way forward. excited about this.
@Charlie an 11t cog would be too small to work with a standard lockring which this system seems to be designed for.
Check out an 12t cog, there’s barely any metal left underneath the teeth. I guess you could take the concept and mill 48 smaller splines onto a cog from a cassette and shink the diameter of the groves on the hub down too… but uh… maybe you should just get a bigger chainring? It’ll wear out slower.
i like the 6 bolt iso standart, why has every company to come out with an own concept? would be affraid the idea dies and no more dogs in a few years
I meant that they should make hubs that are small enough so 11t cogs could fit. Like bmx hubs, but fixed.
but smaller chainring/cog wears your chain out so mutch faster
yes, compact gearing is good for freestyle stuff though. Some frames cannot fit large sprockets. so to have a bigger ratio, a small cog is a must-have.
interesting. We’ll see how they hold up, hopefully they don’t strip out.
they should be tough. Shimano has been using the centerlock system for their hydraulic disc brake mounts.
